UMN Job & Internship Fair

University of Minnesota students are invited to this on-campus event hosted by ACR Homes on October 11th from 10am – 2pm in the Beacon Room of the Recreation and Wellness Center. Keep reading to see how you can engage at this 3 part event.

Job Fair:

ACR Homes is a Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area based group home company that provides care for adults with disabilities! With locations near campus & flexible student hours, learn why so many of your classmates work with us while exploring our jobs & research/project based internships.

• Stop by the recruiting tables at the event to learn about ACR’s rewarding & flexible part-time Direct Care Professional position providing care for adults that have disabilities. Hear from current students working at ACR about their experience and engage with professional recruiters at the event to ask questions.
• Students actively looking for a job at ACR Homes can interview for a job during the event with no appointment required. Just ask at the recruiting tables! Virtual job interviews can also be scheduled at the event for a future date that works better for your schedule.
• Students may also learn about Direct Care Professional positions at our sister company called Arthur’s Senior Care, which provides memory and end-of-life care for seniors with Alzheimers and Dementia.

Community Engagement:

We love having fun at ACR Homes! You can attend our event even if you aren’t actively looking for a job. Come to our event to engage with residents and enjoy some fun treats on ACR!

• Make-&-Take friendship bracelet station: Make a friendship bracelet for yourself & one for an ACR resident! We might even have a group of residents stop by the event to make them with you as their schedules allow. We will be taking photos of our residents wearing the bracelets you make and featuring them on Instagram after the event, so be sure to follow us (@acrhomes) to see if yours gets featured!
• Free Lattes: Corner Coffee Cart (with brick and mortar locations in North Loop, Northeast, & Uptown) joins us each year for this event and makes deliciously crafted hot and cold lattes for all of you to enjoy! (donuts will be served in the morning until lunch arrives)
• Free Raising Canes: Starting at noon, we will have free Raising Canes chicken fingers and toast while supplies last!
• Free Chair Massage: At ACR Homes we’re all about caring for people, and that extends to you during our community events! Stop by the event to enjoy a free 10-minute chair massage
• Giveaways: Everyone who signs into the event will be entered in a drawing for a free Ipad & Apple Pencil (valued at $430). We will also have a prize wheel with smaller prizes like $5 gift cards, everyday life essentials, candy, and ACR swag!

Grad School Mentorship Session:

• Lead by ACR’s Internship Coordinator, join us for a drop-in style round table discussions on all things grad school/med-school. Students who are thinking about pursuing a career in medicine, healthcare, or just have questions about going to grad school can come and engage. ACR Homes Alumni will be joining our Internship Coordinator and sharing about their grad school/med school application processes. We will be sharing tips and tricks for successful applications, offering help with mock interviews, and assistance with personal statement writing. Students can also learn about our official Grad School Mentorship Program offered to ACR Homes employees. Consider this session a “sneak peak” of what we offer to employees enrolled in our free grad school mentorship program.
